Helping the unhoused in Lakewood Colorado stay safe

Bridging Over

Bridging Over’s mission to provide at risk unhoused families and individuals with essential items to improve their safety
and health started as the passion project of one man.

Help us care for the safety of our homeless population along one of the most dangerous roadways in Lakewood, Colorado.

We are thrilled to announce we are officially a 501(c)3 non profit!

Make your donation today and help us change lives!

Please note, that we are not part of the West Colfax Safety Project as this story implies.
We appreciate their work in our community.

Bridging Over in Action

Our Programs:

Our programs specialize in helping our community and we take great pride in them. For Labor Day we have our “Safety Vest Distribution” which focuses on giving out safety vests to the homeless community and to those who have to cross dangerous roadways, especially at night. Our goal with this program is to increase visibility upon the homeless people who are at risk of accidents caused by unaware drivers.

We also provide hot meals for Thanksgiving along Colfax and Teller and have a Holiday Sock program.

Our continuance of these programs is instrumental in our mission to help the Colorado homeless population.

Bringing Over was established in April 2020, at a slow pace the first phase was working with the homeless on the streets of Lakewood, CO.  Bringing food, hygiene items, clothing, blankets, jackets etc.  This was our way of walking the streets to meet, firsthand, the individuals who live there.

Bridging Over founder Randy personally donates much of his “day job” pay check to the organization. He is fortunate to have had corporate and small business partners step up to support the mission but he still contributes personally each week.

In 2021, Bridging Over received a wonderful donation of an RV. With the help of a local RV service center, we fixed it up and moved in our first homeless individual into their new home in February 2021. In April 2023, the individual received the title to the RV and calls it home to this day. He now has a full time job and is sober and clean.

Bridging Over now provides safety vests, food on some holidays, has a holiday sock program and offers other resources for our community members in need along Colfax between Sheridan and Teller Streets.

Our Story:

How Can YOU Help?

There are a number of things you can do to help in our mission!

The main way you can help us is by donating through PayPal. With each Safety bag costing over $5,
your donation can make a significant difference.

Without the necessary finances, only so much can be done to help the homeless population.
